Hi, Mom! ... just a note from camp!

I've been having such a blast taking the Collage Camp with K.C. Willis of Lipstick Ranch!

The whole camp is on video - you can watch each of the five or six videos at your leisure - and go back to check out details, or just re-watch for inspiration, whenever the urge grabs you. I really like this idea ... you can arrange and plan the time you spend around your own schedule. And the videos are remarkably professionally produced.

K.C. is a terrific teacher - very thorough, and generous with her experience and knowledge. Each "class" is so well-presented it's almost unnecessary to have the extensive forum available for questions - there really aren't many questions after watching the videos.

However, the forum - and photo area! - is like a campfire; it's a great place to chat with other campers, exchange ideas and collaging stories, and show off the work being presented. And there has been some really beautiful work inspired by the workshop.

I've made eight pieces using techniques I've learned at 'camp' - and have nine more in the works. That's certainly getting a bang for my buck, in my book!

If you're interested in seeing what it's all about, check out Collage Camp! Maybe I'll see you 'round the collage campfire!

your pieces are FAB!! I haven't looked at any of the camp photos yet as I've not finished my first piece yet and don't want to be influenced, so if you see rusty stars on it you now know why!! lol

This collage camp seems like a genius idea! I love the "arrange and plan the time you spend around your own schedule" - for it makes it so much more fleixible and available to everyone interested in participating! Great idea, and another great collage by the way,
Toma

GORGEOUS! What you can do with pieces of fabric, photos, thread and trinkets is AMAZING to me. I am challenged to even sew a button on. Thanks for sharing the beauty ~ xo Joy

I love these collages Tristan, they are decorative, and also so interesting to view. I love things that you can study to pick out all the little details and appreciate how all the little bits marry perfectly into a wonderful
creation.

For some reason when you have mentioned this camp before, I thought you were
actually going to some
camp. LOL (visions of Tristan making fabulously decorated popsicle stick
houses)

You definitely got your money's worth from camp! I love them all. I also had to comment on the last couple of comments you left on my blog. I love how your opinion is ALWAYS the opposite of what everyone else is saying. If they prefer it short, you like it long better. You prefer the original to the 'new.' I love it! At least I know you aren't worried what anyone thinks. I like that in a person!

Your collages are just so WONDERFUL! I love the color schemes you have going on... and the textures are stunning! I think I need to be a little bit more bold sometimes with my own work (hmmm... I can hear my art professor telling me the same thing)!

We do have coconut oil! =) I can give you more info if you'd like.

My aunt's cat's pants! Your artistic flair is off the hook! I bet everyone else at "camp" wants to tip your canoe over! You do put the "D" in detail!

How big is it?
I love how you combined textures, colours...and love the variety of materials you used in it!

I do so enjoy collage - and this one is exquisitely yummy to look at. I'd like to add a ribbon 'cross the top and hang it in my studio where I could look at it.

-note to self, check out camp!
