Should old acquaintance be forgot...

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup!
and surely I’ll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine;

But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand my trusty friend!
And give me a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,

we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Dearest Friends,
Yet another year has drawn to a close, thereby opening the curtains to reveal anticipated adventures and newfound friends.
It is liberating to know that we are authors our life stories, composing our dreams into nonfiction. Never should we regret previous chapters for those events paved our way to this page in our book. Toss tomorrow's cares to the wayside as we savour this very moment. Our lives will be daisy chains of blissful 'nows' that lead to faerytale endings.
Inspired by a greater good that guides us, we meander through our days. As we follow our paths, some with dawdle along the way to sniff the blooms while others will exert an exhilarating dash, wind in their hair and wings on their shoes. Whether we saunter or sprint, each journey is uniquely our own.

Where will we meander in the next dozen months? Cross roads and side paths will be clearly marked when our map navigates us with compassion as our compass. Because hopeless romantics follow their hearts, we are seldom lost.

I raise a toast to each of you in an Enchanted Revelries circle. May 2018 find you safe and contentedly sound with only good things in store for you and those held dear.
Happy New Year!

Communist Propoganda or Gay Tourist Photos?

Between the emotions of Christmas and New Year, we all could use a little light hearted fun ... so I bring you that all-time, never fail, good-for-a-laugh subject: communism!
"Look it's our future as far as you can see!"
In October, 1949, Mao Zedong announced the creation of the People's Republic of China. China and Russia had long been allies and now, as communist states, that relationship was more important to both countries than ever before.

China and Russia, though two extremely homophobic societies, didn't seem to stop the designers of these Communist propaganda posters from creating such ... well ... such fabulous ... artwork.

Communist propaganda has been an integral part of that particular political structure and Chinese-Russian propaganda attests to how much each country wanted to show the world they had a united front - China and Russia walking hand-in-hand, happy and gay, so to speak. The posters they used to get this idea across, however, may have been a bit too literal.
"Make sure you can see the doves! They'll gets us more likes!"

"You're only this affectionate for photo ops."
"We'll talk about your attitude problem
when the kids are asleep."
"Finally, a masculine photo for my Facebook profile."
"I told you you'd get hot. Now I'm
stuck carrying your coat all day."
"We prefer to stay in and read a good book."
"I swear, Justin, this is the last one. We're
too old for these damn theme parties.
"Look! Is that the damn that I give that you're mad
at me? No. I guess I just can't find any."
"This dance clss has really helped me work through
some of our trust issues.
"Steve, let's just agree we're better together."

Now, go make something beautiful!
