If Dorothy Fell from Kansas Today ...

Warner Bros. Consumer Products and CRYSTALLIZED(TM) - Swarovski Elements Embark on a Ruby Crystal-Studded 70th Anniversary Celebration of The Wizard of Oz

"If Dorothy were living in the 21st century, what would she wear?" is the question being answered by The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection, a creative re-interpretation of one of film's most iconic and revered symbols that has captured the hearts and imaginations of people the world over.

In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, Warner Bros. Consumer Products in partnership with CRYSTALLIZED(TM) - Swarovski Elements, have invited the world's top shoe designers to reinterpret Dorothy's iconic Ruby Slippers for modern times. The exclusive collection will be auctioned with the proceeds benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

The designers have been granted creative license and access to unlimited CRYSTALLIZED(TM) - Swarovski Elements to re-imagine Dorothy's design with their own modern vision of the sparkling Ruby Slipper. The Wizard of Oz Ruby Slipper Collection will be on display for one week and officially unveiled at Saks Fifth Avenue - in the famed Fifth Avenue windows and 10022-SHOE - the designer shoe salon that's so big it has its own zip code. The event will benefit philanthropic partner Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and kick-off support for the Foundation's annual Kids for Kids Family Carnival.

What glorious shoes!!! I own a pair of ruby red slippers, very glittery like the original. I wore them for Halloween (I was the witch who stole Dorothy's shoes~at least that's what I kept telling myself...LOL). Ruby red slippers are just SO magical in themselves. Everyone should own a pair, I think!!! :) Theresa

Oh Tristan, you really know what is gorgeous...I am so glad that I know you, dear soul. What a lovely array of awesome, eye-catching fashion, but what a heart you have to promote such goodness. You are too much. I am home from school today, and I promise, I am going to make something beautiful and think of you. Anita

Tristan, I love those ruby slippers, but alas, I can no longer wear those stillito beauties...I can't even stand in them!! I tried on a pair of heels, 1", and I almost fell on my face. That's what happens when you wear Birks, Crocs, and chunky heels for all those years. Oh well, a girl can dream.

And yes, your slipping, my friend!! LOL

xxoo,
Georgina

Tristan Oh My Gosh...
Betsy Johnson be still my little heart. I so love this pair of shoes. If I was 20 years younger they would be on my feet. I love them. How festive these reds are Tristan. Oh my gosh, so pretty. I guess we old country gals can dream hu? Being 5'2" I have always liked the taller shoes, to feel a little bit taller. I can remember in the 70's the styles were tall, and we even ran in them. Those were the days...Sigh!!!!

Thank you for sharing my friend. I love this post. Red ruby slippers to dream by. Country hugs sweet friend. Have a beautiful day. Friends Alway Make Me Smile, Sherry

What a fabulous post!! I tried to play the guessing game of WHO designed the shoe without reading...(always a game for me) then there is the picking the most favorite...well, they are all stunning. Maybe if I click MY heels together and close my eyes, I will be home when I open them again.

OMG, Tristan, be still my heart! I am an avid fan of both Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz! Which shoes would Dorothy wear today? I think she would possibly choose the beautiful pair by Diane Von F., though don't know just how comfortable they would be for "following the Yellow Brick Road"!

Toto, let's go home! Have a bright and sparkly day!

Oh gosh, almost forgot, our giveaway ends in four days, good luck to you!!

I kind of wish I was in Kansas today. (Sounds desperate.)

Do you even need to enter this giveaway? People just send you stuff regardless. Well, some folks got it, and some folks don't. Don't get greedy, Mister.

Gotta go - I'm up to my neck in trims.

BTW - Bricolage left me a message that she was number one once and one. So there is hope for you.

All red shoes are fabulous. In fact, I've been sporting red boots for the past week just to brighten up the dreary days of winter. And in the summer, I love my red Repetos. But if I could chose one pair, it would be the Oscar de la Renta pumps! How lovely.
