Up in Smoke ...



Aaron Kasmins pencil drawings offer an escape into a time when smoking was considered chic and various hotels, bars and restaurants flogged their wares via miniature artworks that their patrons could take away with them. Up in Smoke by Aaron Kasmin was on display at Sims Reed Gallery, London from May 17 – June 9, 2017.

"Following the success of Lucky Strike, Kasmin’s previous show at SRG, the artist is hosting a second exhibition inspired by American feature matchbooks. The exhibition showcases twenty-eight new pencil drawings, which celebrate and pay homage to the glitz and glamour of the post-prohibition era." from the Sims Reed Gallery exhibition announcement

These are very cool! I remember sometimes eeing things like this when I was a kid.

Now theses are fun, love the girlies.I remember mom and a big glass fish bowl and they put match books in there from all the places they had been, even the local restaurants , it was wonderful!!!
