The first day of 2010 ...

I made my first blog post on New Year's Day, 2009. I am re-posting that entry ... it still speaks for me. Thank you - all of you - who have shared your kindness and generosity of spirit with me over the past year. I look forward to knowing you better!

January 1, 2009:

"Today will be joyous, for the beauty

slamming against my face is unwilling to be ignored."

Today this statement arrived in the mail taking the form of a New Year's greeting.

The sentiment encompasses the way I try to live my life. I endeavor to see the beauty around me, no matter how inconsequential or trivial it may seem to others as they look past it towards more heady displays of beauty.

The card (and quote) came from http://www.ponderingpool.com ... visit and enjoy!

Well, I will say this. My style of brevity has evolved to one of verbiage and excess!

And voilĂ  pourquoi I love you so! You do enjoy all the details and things that most people take for granted, and then you bring it forth with eloquent verbiage and excess, but THAT IS WHAT WE WANT! Life is short, live to bring joy to others and the rest will take care of itself. Tristan, it has been a great pleasure knowing you and I look forward to more sparkle, glitter and glam and friendship, mon ami!

Bisous, Anita

Happy New Year and Happy 1st Blogoversary to you! I really like that saying Today will be joyous, for the beauty slamming against my face is unwilling to be ignored." I am wondering who you are quoting when you write that or is it your own statement? It's quite poignant!

Sorry, Tatting Chic - I don't know who the quote is by. It's from a greeting card I received, published by Pondering Pool.com

I love the quote, too!

Happy New Year & Blog Anniversary Tristan! The image of the woman ringing in the New Year is too cute. I love the Fleur de lys & Marie Antoinette keychain(?). I'm with you on the French style vitrines. Those are my favorites too. However, I would not turn away the early 19th century Italian paint decorated vitrine lined in white silk or the American made one with the serpentine front glass.

Isn't that a wonderful keychain! Actually, it was a necklace that I won on her blog, and she changed it to a keychain, knowing that I wouldn't wear the necklace. The jeweler's name is Joy - and her website ishttp://cupidscharm.blogspot.com/
Pay her a visit - she makes delightful things that are in the "gift giving" price range LOL. Tell her I sent you!

I don't think you were ever brief. I think you were born splendidly verbose and with fabulous excessive style. What have you been up to?
