Tristan dearest, This is magical....I can't contain my JOY! 1903...hmmmm....my dad was born two years later, and to think that this is the sort of entertainment that he probably got as a child. What magic, n'est-ce pas? I am so happy that you find joy and beauty in such things...what a whimsical heart you have! And yes, I did make something beautiful today---in my classroom. I helped a little boy feel good about his little French story book that he made. He feels like a "writer" and there I times like this where I really feel like a "teacher"! Ahh...and I always have a bit of theatre or dance in my lessons. We are doing a little French play at the moment and the kids just love to do improv! What fun. Thank you dear and have a silent and still weekend to give you rest!! Anita

Tonight I am trying to catch up on my regular blog reading...Tomorrow is Shop day so hope to be creating some new goodies....
Hello Tristan, I love magic lantern theatre. I once interviewed a gentleman in Haddam who did it; it was a while ago so I don't know if he still does it. Got himself all dressed up in a Victorian suit and top hat, which was lovely. I didn't get to MAKE anything beautiful, but I did get to package up many of my beautiful things to send to loving new homes! :) Hopefully that counts...Theresa

Yes! Life does sparkle and shimmer and glimmer and gleam! And I love it! Whether I'm making art, working with fabric, paper, ink and vintage findings - or working on a theatre piece - or sewing like an ecstatic dervish on a new art quilt - I'm always attracted to what shimmers just out of sight...the ghosts of sparkle and the rich dignity of decayed splendor.
Sparkle!
Shimmer!
Glimmer!
Gleam!

If I may quote M'Lynn from Steel Magnolias:
"That sanctuary looks like it's been hosed down with Pepto-Bismol."
