Friday Flea Market - Belle Starr

This 15"(wide) x 19"(long) collaged wallhanging is constructed of aged new fabrics and vintage fabrics. It includes various hand-made papers and crochet details. Embellishments include vintage and antiqued keys, rusted tin stars, silk ribbons and threads, bugle beads and vintage beaded flowers and jewelry.

As always, clicking on each photo will enlarge it.
The text: "Shed not for her the bitter tear; nor give the heart to vain regret. Tis but the casket that lies here; the gem that fills it sparkles yet." carved into the headstone of Belle Starr.

The price for the OOAK wallhanging is $135, with shipping included to the continental United States. For international shipping rates, please contact me. This piece, as well as others, may be acquired at my Etsy shop by clicking here.

After checking out the other offerings of artists who participate in Flea Market Friday, feel inspired to go create something beautiful!

Every week I seem to have a new favorite among your assemblages. I too like to blow them up and admire your sense of design.

But it's Thursday. You got me so confused there for a moment.

Hi Tristan, We have never been formally introduced, but I have seen you all over blogland. I wanted to come over and invite you to a party. It's actually a party where I had you in mind when I decided on the title. The name of the part is "Where Bloggers Create" inspired by the magazine Where Women Create". But when I decided to throw this party for everyone to show off there wonderful studio's and work spaces, I thought "I can't call it Where Women Create...what if Tristan wants to come!!!" So, I would love it if you would hop over to my Home and Garden blog (My Desert Cottage) and check it out. (I also have an Art Blog called Valentine Studio, and you can find info there too)
I hope to hear from you soon!!

Hey Tristan,
I am bowled over by this work of art. My pea brain just can't figure out how you come to design such a wonderful creation. I can see all the hard work and the awesome detail you did and when I made the photo larger...Wow! I love the keys and the pretty blue bugle beads you used. I also adore that fuzzy strip of blue on the side.

It's really fabulous Tristan.

Deanna :D

Oh yes and congratulations! Karen is a fine artist and I can't wait to see what she paints for you!
